Recognizing the importance of community to retention and satisfaction with work/life balance, building relationships will be the focus of a series of events scheduled to provide opportunities for community building. These activities, as well as a dedicated list serve, will allow faculty to communicate more effectively about concerns related to childcare, healthcare, job opportunities, and other relevant areas. Brown-bag lunch gatherings, coffee hours, and other social opportunities will be scheduled to help support both career development and advancement of women faculty. Check the university calendar for scheduled Tigers ADVANCE events.
Additional activities focused on retention will include institute exit interviews to document the reasons why women faculty depart from Clemson in order to have a better understanding of factors impacting retention efforts.
