Graduate School Orientation

Welcome to Clemson University! The graduate school orientation program at Clemson University provides the information and resources to ensure a successful transition to your graduate studies. The program promotes discussion on campus community and graduate education among all graduate students (masters, doctoral and post-doc) alongside faculty and staff. Each new degree-seeking graduate student is encouraged to attend orientation.

2020 Spring Semester

Graduate school orientation for students accepted into the 2020 spring semester is scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2020. The program will take place on the Clemson main campus from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New students are strongly encouraged to attend.

Schedule for the Orientation Session

  • 8:15 a.m. - Check-in for the session at Watt Family Innovation Center
  • 9:30 a.m. - Welcome and Opening Session
  • 11:00 a.m. - Real Talk: Graduate Student Panel
  • 11:45 a.m. - Lunch (included for all attendees)
  • 12:30 p.m. - Grad 360°
  • 1:30 p.m. - Managing your Transition (multiple interest sessions)
  • 2:45 p.m. - Resource Essentials Fair and Dean's Welcome Reception

There is an online registration program for this orientation session; registration is open now. All students planning to attend are encouraged to register. There is no fee to attend. This program is intended for students; if guests attend with you they will follow the student program.

; it is valid for Lot C-1, located near Hendrix Student Center. View Campus Maps to learn more. The pass is valid for both the orientation session and Kick-Off Clemson events, January 6-7. Plan to print the pass and place it on your vehicle's dashboard while parked in the designated lot.

International Orientation

The international orientation program is separate from graduate school orientation, yet both are helpful for graduate students from outside of the United States. The international orientation session is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Watt Family Innovation Center.
