Dr. Liu's CV

Dr. Liu joined Clemson in August 2018 as a full-time lecturer. He has the background of mechanical engineering and engineering education. Dr. Liu is a member of ASME, ASEE, and Combustion Institute. He has served Virginia Tech, General Electric Global Research Center as research scientist for years. His primary duty is teaching Mechanical Engineering undergraduate courses, including ME 2010 Statics and Dynamics, ME 2040 Mechanics of Materials, ME3330 Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, and ME 4020 Capstone Design.

Research Interests

Student Centered Active Learning Environment with Upside-down Pedagogy (SCALE-UP), student-centered teaching, pedagogical study, self-regulated learning, student misconception, research experience of undergraduate, the effects of the flexible classroom on teaching and learning strategies, enhanced heat transfer, clean and renewable energy, etc.
