Fred Begemann delivers his lecture "Primordial Argon" on the second afternoon (Aug. 11, 1976) at Gregynog for the 1976 Workshop on Isotopic Anomalies, which was organized by D. Clayton. See 1976 Gregynog Group for more details of this historic workshop. Begemann was an experimental leader for decades as Director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemie (Mainz). He was the first to search (unsuccesfully) for the excess 41K and 44Ca predicted by D. Clayton (Nature 257, 36) owing to extinct 41Ca and 44Ti within supernova dust; but those signatures would become clear later, after supernova grains were isolated in 1987.
