Howard Conyers joined the department as a Professor of Practice in January 2026. Prior to this position, Howard worked the past 16 years for NASA. Most recently, he was the Chief Technologist Liaison agency-wide for the NASA SBIR/STTR program, primarily for the STTR program. Prior to that, he worked at NASA Stennis Space Center as Mechanical Design Lead for the A1 Test Stand, where the RS-25 engine is tested for the Artemis program, as Principal Investigator for HiDyRS-X, and as a Structural Dynamicist. At Clemson, Howard’s focus will be on coordinating and delivering the department's Senior Capstone Projects.
