Patrick Dorin joined the department as an Assistant Professor in August 2025. Prior to this position, Patrick served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on controlling and harnessing vibrations and elastic waves using architected structures known as metamaterials. His work aims to create advanced structures that can intelligently guide, focus, and block elastic waves, unlocking new possibilities for a broad range of engineering applications (e.g., energy harvesting, sensing, vibration/noise mitigation, structural health monitoring, and information processing).
