CCIT is pleased to bring back into publication Faculty Directions, a newsletter written primarily by and for Clemson faculty.
Many of you probably remember the old Faculty Directions, which was first published in print in the 1990s and continued in print until a few years ago. This time around, we are publishing the newsletter only online and we are expanding the scope to include the interesting and innovative ways faculty are using technology in their research and service in addition to their teaching. Often those three areas overlap and inform one another, so the goal is to provide an easily accessible opportunity for all faculty to learn from and share with other faculty, regardless of emphasis area.
While we continue to work on the new Faculty Directions design, we move forward with this issue that includes article topics ranging from digital ink to video podcasting, from creative thinking to cyberinfrastructure implementation, as well as articles about distance education and Second Life training. We hope you will enjoy reading about the projects of your colleagues. For more information about these projects, you may contact the author or any of the faculty or staff involved in the projects. One goal is to promote more collaboration across disciplines so be assured that your inquiry will be welcome. Who knows? Maybe there's a big NSF grant out there in the future just waiting for the right mix of collaborators to apply.
If you would like to write an article or you have an article idea for the spring 2010 issue, please send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
