Michael Zebuhr Memorial Fund 1980-2006
A bioengineering Ph.D. student on spring break with family in 2006, Mike Zebuhr was fatally shot during a robbery in Minneapolis, Minn. He was a role model who contributed greatly to our department and the field. In his memory, Clemson University established the Michael Zebuhr Memorial Fund. This fund, open to graduate and undergraduate students, is used to support research projects initiated by Clemson bioengineering students. Students can apply for a Michael Zebuhr Memorial Award by submitting a summary of their proposed research, a budget, a résumé and a letter of recommendation.

Award recipients will be chosen based on

  1. Their research plan
  2. Those qualities that Mike personified — a strong work ethic, dedication, intelligence, creativity, practicality, and enthusiasm.
