Staff Meetings 

Staff meetings occur every Monday at 9:15 AM in Conference Room 423. Please ask your supervisor to forward the meeting invitation if you have not already received it.

Computer/IT Related Items

    • Help Tickets: For any IT related problem, you will need to put in a ticket to “IT Help”:
      • Email ITHelp@clemson.edu
      • Make the subject line “CECAS CORE ICAR Greenville” – this will route to AUE’s IT team
      • In the body of the email, include a description of your problem
      • Include any relevant screen shots if applicable (error messages, etc.)
    • Duo Mobile: Two-factor authentication is required to log into many Clemson systems. You will need to download the Duo Mobile app on your phone (please see IT staff for assistance).
    • Security: For security, always lock computer when leaving desk (Windows Key + L)

Timesheets, Leave, and Kronos

    • Non-exempt employees are required to electronically enter their hours worked via Kronos. Please work with your supervisor for guidance in filling in your timesheet. Training resources can be viewed here. For additional payroll information), please visit Clemson's Payroll  page.
    • Annual and Sick leave are submitted via Kronos; please work with your supervisor on entering leave time. The Summary of Leave Benefits and further guidance can be found on the current employee page.

Parking & Travel

    • Parking at CGEC is available for staff and faculty directly underneath or behind the building. If no parking spots are available, please use the ICAR parking garage across the street from our building.
    • We have several fleet cars that can be reserved for business use, please ask your supervisor for more details on the reservation process. There is also a bus available that runs between CUICAR and main campus (with free wifi on board); see the TigerCommute information here. Because of the availability of the fleet vehicles and TigerCommute, the department will not reimburse mileage expenses to-and-from main campus.
    • Parking on main campus: Single day passes can be purchased online through Parking Services for $3.00, or in bulk at the Parking office on main campus. Parking for business use is eligible for departmental reimbursement.

Office Supplies

Standard office supplies are available in the cabinet outside of office 329, please see the office manager for the key. If you need something additional (or an item is missing) please speak with the office manager to order more through buyWays.

CGEC Leave Calendar

The leave calendar can be found in Outlook, titled “0926-CEGC_Leave”. Please enter times that you will be away from the office (vacation, appointments, meetings on main-campus, etc). Please work with your supervisor or IT if you are unable to access calendar.

Department Information

All Clemson departments have a unique 4-digit numbers. Automotive Engineering's department number is 0926. You will sometimes see our department listed as “Campbell Grad Engr Program”.

Common Acronyms

    • AUE – Automotive Engineering (abbreviation for our department, used in course numbers)
    • CGEC – Campbell Graduate Engineering Center (Name of our building)
    • CECAS – College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences (encompasses all engineering departments: Automotive, Mechanical, Chemical, BioE, etc)
    • CUICAR – Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research
    • CMI – Center for Manufacturing Innovation (located beside CGEC; partnership between CU and Greenville Tech)
    • CET - Center for Emergeing Technologies, another building on the CUICAR campus located at 
    • CUCAM – Clemson University Center for Advanced Manufacturing, which includes:
      • VAC - Vehicle Assembly Center
      • CCC - Clemson Composites Center
      • ARMC - Advanced Robotics Manufacturing Center

Free training and professional development opportunities are available through Clemson. Please discuss external opportunities for professional development with your supervisor.

New Employee "To-Do" Items (to be completed with supervisor's assistance):

    • Review the Tigers at Work resource
    • Meet with member of IT staff to set up laptop & Duo Mobile app
    • Obtain office key
    • Register for New Hire Orientation 
    • Set up direct deposit
    • Schedule a benefits counseling session (must be within 30 days of hire!)
    • Set up email signature
    • Reset voicemail via ITHelp
    • Obtain your TigerOne (CU-ID) card 
    • Obtain access to the CGEC Leave Calendar in Outlook
    • Work with Office Manager to order business cards and magnetic nametag
    • Provide your supervisor with a photograph for the department website (note - a headshot will be taken during your New Employee Orientation)
