CMD® Mission

Jordon Gilmore

Partnering underrepresented IBIOE engineering/science doctoral fellows with education scholars at Clemson University, to bring cutting edge science/engineering concepts to the community and to the K-12 classroom. The goal of the Call Me Doctor® program is to leverage the skills and interests of the fellows to excite and inform the public about cutting edge research. The fellows gain enhanced communication skills and a broader learning experience than that of a traditional research environment

About the Program

The Call Me Doctor®(CMD®) graduate fellows program supports high-achieving Ph.D. students who have an interest in pursuing doctoral studies in mathematics, sciences, or engineering and being a member of an IBIOE research team.

Call Me Doctor® Graduate Fellows will:

  • Receive awards ranging from $20-$30,000 per year over four years.
  • Be assigned to a mentor who will serve as an academic, research, and professional development advisor.
  • Work in a collaborative, team-based research and training environment.
  • Participate in a community service or K-12 project relevant to their dissertation.
  • Develop a multi-disciplinary network of life-long colleagues, both faculty and fellow students.

Call me Doctor® Graduate Fellows will be selected based on academic performance, standardized test scores, recommendation letters and commitment to community service, mentoring, or teaching. Call Me Doctor® strives to provide fellows with an environment offering ready access to assistance and encouragement, one which promotes academic excellence and direct faculty involvement with student success.
