CONCERT is a six-week course that is suggested for all faculty who are teaching or developing online courses. The curriculum benefits anyone wishing to refresh or discover up-to-date online teaching and development skills. The course is offered entirely online in an asynchronous format at least six times per year, including summer offerings.

Explore strategies to provide quality online instruction. Will look at methods appropriate for online environments and identify ways to engage and encourage student success.

ENCORE is a two-part, dialogic review process for online courses. This review process ensures that attributes which could contribute to a negative student experience are addressed and draws attention to the attributes that contribute to a positive student experience.
Any online course developer (faculty member or E-Learning Strategist) may request that his or her online course undergo the ENCORE review process once the course has been developed and preferably before it is delivered. Prior to submitting the course for review, consider performing a self-check using our ENCORE Compliance for Canvas training resource.
Within 1-2 weeks of submitting the course, Clemson Online staff will complete and send feedback for the first part of the review process, the ENCORE Compliance Review. The ENCORE Compliance Review verifies that the qualities required by SACS-COC accreditation, Clemson University syllabus requirements, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and WCAG 2.0 A and AA are included in the course. If, at the end of the initial review, any of these qualities are not present, the developer(s) and reviewers will work together on the course to pass the ENCORE Compliance Review.
Upon completing the ENCORE Compliance Review, the course will proceed to the ENCORE Quality Review. Usually, within 2-4 weeks, two reviewers will evaluate and provide feedback on the course’s incorporation of attributes in the following categories:
Courses that include 16 of the 21 attributes will pass the ENCORE Quality Review and receive Certification.
Since March 2015 we have certified 85 courses through ENCORE.
Clemson Online is updating its quality review process and will not be conducting reviews until Spring 2019, at the earliest. If, however, you are in the process of preparing for the review, you can contact accessonline@clemson.edu to get feedback on your course's adherence to compliance and accessibility standards. Thanks for your patience.
