IE Sales Engineering Certificate

Interested in earning a Sales Engineering Certificate?

Be sure to make plans to register for IE 3840, MKT 4210*, and MKT 4240, the three Economics and Sales courses offered that qualify you for a Sales Engineering Certificate. These classes will allow you to develop various significant technical sales skills including understanding the sales cycle, strategic communication, personnel management, and sales presenting. Though specifically tailored to jump start sales engineering careers, these classes will aid all students tune skills necessary for professional interviews, networking, and communication. IE 3840 Engineering Economic Analysis 3 credits (3 contact hours)

Basic principles and techniques of economic analysis of engineering projects. Consideration of time, value of money, short- and long-term investments, replacement analysis, depreciation methods, cost allocation, and measures of cost effectiveness.

MKT 4210 Technical Selling 3 credits (3 contact hours)

Introduces the principles of selling across industry contexts with a focus on the technical selling role. Students learn critical thinking skills in developing selling strategy for technical applications and ideas. This course is intended for students in engineering and closely related science majors.

MKT 4240 Sales Management 3 credits (3 contact hours) **

Comprehensive examination of the planning, implementation, and control of professional sales organizations.
