Citadel Flag inside of case behind glassThe WLCC has worked with the Citadel for over 12 years to uphold the condition of the CSA Battle Flag “Big Red”, which has been on loan to them by the Iowa Battle Flag Project since March 19, 2010. Biennially, the WLCC conservators perform a full condition assessment, noting any changes in the flag's physical appearance, and track the environmental conditions of the display area.

The flag was also remounted by the WLCC in 2016 to create a display that is less stressful for the artifact. Our continued collaboration with the Citadel allows for this piece of their history to be showcased.
