Ina B. Durham High School Ethics Case Competition
About Our Ina B. Durham High School Ethics Case Competition:
Clemson University's Ina B. Durham High School Ethics Case Competition provides high school students with a methodical approach and solve ethical dilemmas. Teams consisting of two high school students propose a solution to an ethical dilemma using Clemson University's STAR ethical decision-making model in front of a panel of professional judges. Only two teams form each school may participate. This year's competition will be held in-person on Friday, March 8th where a set of winners will be chosen.
Teams of two high school students will create a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation outlining a solution to a provided ethical dilemma using the Clemson University STAR Model and tending to the philosophical, legal, and financial implications of the possible outcomes. Up to two teams per high school are allowed to compete.

Reasons to Participate:
- Obtain exposure to ethical dilemmas in life
- Understand that dilemmas occur everywhere and every day to everyone who makes choices
- Learn about dilemmas that do not have clear cut answers
- Obtain and improve decision-making skills in pressured and hurried situations at a leadership level
- Get a jump start on resume building
- Network with other high school students, Clemson University students, staff and faculty
- Feel pride in participating in a rare and productive event

Registration for the 2024 competition has closed.
Information and registration for the 2025 competition will open in the Fall.
