SC Technical College Transfer

Start Your Clemson Engineering Degree at a SC Technical College

Many students choose to begin their Engineering or Computing majors at a local technical college and then transfer to Clemson to complete their Bachelor's degree.  If transferring is a part of your academic goals, we recommend that you plan for your transfer before you even begin at the initial school.  With advanced planning and use of Clemson's resources, you can ensure that you stay on target with the courses you select to ensure transferability and academic preparedness when you begin your studies at Clemson.

Clemson rated #1 on the Best Value Colleges and Universities in South Carolina, according to Best Value Schools annual rankings.

Students can complete their freshman-level Math, Science, English, and General Education courses at any of our SC Technical Schools. Some schools even offer our freshman-level Engineering and Computing courses. Start by knowing which courses you need in your desired BS major's curriculum. Then match those courses with the courses you can take now that will transfer to Clemson.  This will make your transition much smoother and ease the frustration and time-loss of unnecessary coursework and excess elective credits.

SC Technical Colleges

South Carolina has 16 Colleges in the Technical College System spread throughout the state for easy access to all SC residents.  Please view the accordion list below the map and select your college to find each school's recommended coursework for your intended Engineering or Computing major.  You can also see the General Education course equivalency options available for transfer to Clemson by requirement (Please note General Education requirements  have changed for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 catalog year. Make sure you are looking at the requirements for the calendar year you are eligible to follow. Students on previous year's curricula can revert to those requirements if different. We recommend you meet with our Transfer Coordinator to discuss your options).
