Pate Foundation in action

Mission: Creating enhanced educational opportunities for students and the community through research and outreach for an improved understanding of the relationship between man and the environment.

The Pate Foundation was established to help educate the next generation of scientists and resource managers in sustainable management of the coastal environment.

By providing students with the opportunity to experience and perform research in coastal forest land, the foundation gives them a deeper understanding of our coastal ecosystems. Armed with knowledge of how soil, water, vegetation, wildlife and man interact, these students are prepared to make the management and policy decisions that will shape the future.

The Baruch Institute research faculty considers issues from many perspectives and provides research projects and opportunities to our future scientists and land managers.
