      Research topics: Use of Pacific Silvercloth in silver collections; New solvent for use with acrylic adhesives.

B. Arts. Sc. Honors with Major Concentration in Chemistry and Minor Concentration in Classical Studies, University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, 2012.
      Honors Thesis: Electroless and Immersion Metallization of Elastomeric Substrates.

Responsibilities:
Gyllian joined the WLCC in June of 2018 following a post-graduate internship at the Canadian Conservation Institute in their archaeological conservation laboratory. She is part of the team of conservators responsible for the conservation and preservation of the H. L. Hunley submarine and its associated artifacts. Gyllian also carries out documentation, examination, research, and treatment for the WLCC’s other contracts.

Research interest:
Gyllian’s research interests lie primarily within the field of archaeological conservation. She is interested in the application of chelators for the treatment of iron- and copper-contaminated organic and inorganic artifacts, and in impregnation materials for the conservation of waterlogged organic materials. She is also involved in research studying of corrosion chemistry of silver and sterling silver objects.
