Clemson University Chapter of Mechanical Engineers is a volunteer organization executed by the undergraduates and graduates of Clemson University’s Mechanical Department.
The Phi Kappa chapter of Pi Tau Sigma was established at Clemson on September 10, 1984 through the efforts of Dr. Przirembel. The objectives of Pi Tau Sigma are to foster high ideals in the engineering profession, stimulate and support departmental activities, promote professional welfare and develop leadership and citizenship.
The Society of Automotive Engineers at Clemson University offers its members the opportunity to apply their engineering skills to hands on automotive projects.
SAE is an international organization created to share knowledge between students and engineers. Clemson’s chapter is dedicated to promoting the advancement in designing and building of automotive vehicles. These opportunities include monthly meetings, plant tours and two design projects — Formula SAE and Mini Baja.

The Clemson SME chapter is a professional organization devoted to promote manufacturing through organized study, research, and discussion of the professional area and the dissemination of knowledge thereby gained. We will also promote membership in SME by introducing the ideas, purposes, and objectives of SME to the student body and surrounding community. The Clemson SME chapter is sponsored by SME Greater Charleston Chapter and operated within the SME Governance Document and Bylaws.
