The annual Clemson University Cooperative Extension Awards recognize employees who show visionary leadership, as well as diversity and innovation in educational programming.
There are two awards categories.
- Distinguished Public Service Award
- Extension Team Award
Call for nominations begins in January of each year.
The Distinguished Public Service Alumni Award, given by the Clemson University Alumni Association, recognizes an Extension Administrator, Extension Specialist, or County Extension Agent who teaches not only in the classroom, but in the field, the family kitchen, in the town, or wherever South Carolinians seek information and assistance. This annual award recognizes distinguished public service to the citizenry of the state over the span of their career and is the highest honor awarded to an Extension professional.
The Extension Team Award shall be presented to an Extension-related team for outstanding achievement in recognizing and addressing issues. The award will focus on the team’s success at creating positive change related to the issues. The presentation of the award will be made with peer groups whenever possible.
