International Student Athletes
The guidance below is intended for incoming and transfer international student athletes. Students must complete the steps below to begin their academic and athletic programs at Clemson University. Please note that these steps must be completed in order. Failure to do so may result in delays.
- SEVIS Check-In: Submit the SEVIS Check-In e-form to the iStart Portal once you are enrolled full-time (12 credits).
- Please have your Athletics coordinator complete the first two sections of the Employment Verification Letter and upload with your request if you do not have a Social Security Card.
- Social Security Card: If you do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) already, you must apply for one by following the guidance here. This step can only be completed once your SEVIS record has been activated.
- Hiring Paperwork: Work with International Employment to complete the required hiring process.
