The College of Architecture, Arts & Humanities includes a remarkable diversity of scholars in fields ranging from the highly technical to artistic, with combinations of both. Faculty and students in the College create new knowledge through research in many ways: the creative work of artists and designers, scholarship in the humanities and empirical studies in planning and construction science. Our research is characterized by original thought and communication of results through peer reviewed venues. Faculty in AAH are recognized for their research.
Our College has a significant role to play in most, if not all the university emphasis areas, perhaps most notably in General Education, Family and Community life, and Sustainable Environment.
Our college has a significant record of publication which continues to grow. Parallel to this increase is a significant expansion in the level of externally funded research. The Office of the Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Studies assists faculty and centers in the College through an internal grant program, staff assistance in developing and processing grant proposals, and team building for collaborative research. We are here to enable faculty to pursue new knowledge through better understanding the past, analysis of the present, and creating means for a better future.
