Dr. Woodard won the Alumni Master Teacher Award in 1991, Fluor Daniel Excellence in Teaching Award 1997-1998, and the Dunn Student Advising Award in 200-2001. He teaches Political Theory, Parties and Elections, Public Administration, and Political Novel and Film class in the Department of Political Science.
ProfileDavid Woodard has been teaching political science at Clemson University since 1983. Before that he taught at Auburn University for two years. He is the author or co-author of seven books including THE NEW SOUTHERN POLITICS (2013), and RONALD REAGAN: A BIOGRAPHY (2012). In addition he is a political consultant for Republican candidates. Former clients includ: Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Former Congressman Gresham Barrett (R-SC), Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC).
The field of American politics is my research field. I am interested in biographies, political books and anything associated with American politics.
