About Us

The Office of College Preparation and Outreach was created in 2017 and our mission is to close educational opportunity gaps and expose underrepresented K-12 students to higher education. We do this through three signature programs: Snelsire, Sawyer, & Robinson Clemson Career Workshop, Emerging Scholars and Tiger Alliance. We also host regional student summits around the state throughout the year and offer specialized campus tours for groups of underrepresented students.  Please visit the program websites to learn more.

Programs and Initiatives

Emerging Scholars

Clemson Emerging Scholars Program helps students from South Carolina’s I-95 Corridor learn what it takes to go to college. We concentrate on academic preparation, leadership skills and the college application process.

Snelsire, Sawyer, & Robinson Clemson Career Workshop

Snelsire, Sawyer, & Robinson Clemson Career Workshop is a summer program designed to support the readiness of high-achieving students from diverse populations to enter college. The Snelsire, Sawyer, & Robinson Clemson Career Workshop enables rising high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to get an inside look into Clemson University while learning tips and tools needed to prepare for college and beyond.

Tiger Alliance

Tiger Alliance (TA) is a college access program at Clemson University designed to illuminate pathways to college, bridge the opportunity gap and create a college-going culture for high school men in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Regional Student Summits

This summit is designed to educate, inspire, and empower underrepresented middle and high school students but it is open to any 7th-12th grade student. Students can expect to hear from a variety of speakers that will hold interactive sessions about the college admissions process, financial aid options, strategies for academic success in high school, leadership development, career options and much more!

Tigers on Tour

Groups of underrepresented K-12 students can visit campus to get a specialized tour and talk to college students who have similar backgrounds and interests. Tours need to be scheduled at least three weeks in advance and approval is dependent on student availability.
