Outreach Programs

Elementary-High School

Project WISE is a one-week residential camp held in June for rising 7th and 8th-grade girls to introduce them to careers in STEM.

STEM Connections is an excellent opportunity for elementary, middle, and high school girls to make the connection between engineering and science and their lives.

The Girls Scouts program is "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day" which is an outreach day that Girl Scout troops from the South Carolina Mountains to Midlands attend. This outreach event allows Girl Scouts to engage in hands-on STEM activiites with Clemson faculty and students.

STEM Day is a program partnering with schools and faith-based organizations in the Upstate of South Carolina to bring middle school girls and boys to campus to engage in hands-on STEM activities with Clemson faculty and students.

High School

PEER Snapshot and WISE Choice: WISE Choice brings top performing female students interested in the STEM fields from around the state together for a one-day visit to explore majors in engineering and computer science at Clemson University. Similarly, PEER SnapShot brings top performing underrepresented high school seniors of all genders (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American) together for this same experience. Usually separate events, these two events will be combined to expand our outreach efforts. Participants will hear from various campus representatives, have lunch with a current college student, attend informational sessions regarding their major of interest, and receive advisement by representatives of our Admissions, Financial Aid and PEER & WISE Offices.
