The Admissions Process

Before you access the application, it is strongly recommended that you read "Calhoun Honors College FAQ."

Before submitting your Honors College application, you must first apply to Clemson University Undergraduate Admissions.

Approximately one week after submitting your CU Undergraduate Application, you will receive your nine-character Clemson University Identification number (CUID) (coming to you in an email that you provided on the undergraduate application to Clemson University), acknowledging your application to Clemson University.

You will need your CUID number in order to complete and submit your Honors College application.

Please allow ample time to receive your CUID in order to meet the Honors College deadlines. See the Dates/Timelines page for that information.

Admission to the Calhoun Honors College is by an online application that is separate from, and in addition to, your application to Clemson University.

To be considered for admission to the Honors College, applicants must have a combined critical reading and math SAT score of at least 1320 or an ACT score of 30. In exceptional situations, we will consider applications from students who do not fully meet these qualifications.

Admission to the Honors College is highly selective, with SAT scores historically averaging 1400 or higher and applicants typically ranking in the top three percent of their high school class.

Freshman enrollment in the Honors College is limited to approximately 250 or less than ten percent of the freshman class.

Honors Fee: Students who enroll at Clemson and who enter the Honors College after August 15, 2009, are assessed an Honors Fee, currently $350 per semester. This fee supports new and enhanced Honors College programs and activities which enrich our students' educational experiences inside and outside the classroom.
