Redfern Health Center

Medical Care

Primary Care

Redfern Health Center offers comprehensive preventive and basic health care services, primarily to Clemson University students. Five physicians, three nurse practitioners, eleven registered nurses, and a medical assistant are available to provide continuous, quality medical care. Patients are encouraged to make appointments to be seen for illness and injuries as they occur throughout their stay at Clemson.

Nurse’s Clinic

Although Redfern Health Center is not an emergency room or urgent-care clinic, we offer acute and/or urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries via our nurse’s clinic. In the nurse’s clinic, a registered nurse sees the patient, assesses the problem and takes appropriate action. If immediate physician intervention is needed, patients are referred to our CU Now provider.

Allergy/Immunization Clinic

A registered nurse administers allergy injections for students who provide their own antigens with specific instructions from the patient’s private allergist. Several immunizations and screenings are available for a small fee as well.

Clinical Laboratory

Redfern is staffed by three medical technologists who are registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Redfern’s laboratory is accredited by the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation and has received the Laboratory Excellence Award.

Redfern Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy located inside Redfern Health Center and staffed by licensed pharmacists who are available to talk with you about your medications.

Redfern Health Center offers a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures.

Women’s Clinic

We offer a wide range of gynecological services to meet the needs of our female population. The Women’s Clinic is staffed by a nurse practitioner who specializes in women’s health.
