Dr. Flowers was appointed to serve on the Board of Advisors for the National Education Finance Conference. The focus of the conference is to examine finance issues across the educational pipeline.
As part of our educational research workshop series titled, Issues in Educational Research: Understanding Diversity in Educational Environments, the Charles H. Houston Center offered its Fall 2010 research workshop. The workshop focused on calculating and interpreting bivariate correlations using the 2008 Rankings of the Counties and School Districts of South Carolina. Utilizing SPSS, a statistical software package, participants learned how to examine the relationship between race and factors affecting education in South Carolina.
