Welcome to the Charles H. Houston Center

The Charles H. Houston Center for the Study of the Black Experience in Education, established in 1988, is the only research center housed at one of the nation's top research universities that conducts empirical research, disseminates scholarly information, examines evidence-based best practices, and addresses critical issues impacting African Americans at all levels of the educational system.

The Charles H. Houston Center strives to conduct research that makes a difference, inform educational policies, implement academic outreach activities, and coordinate professional development programs.
