Can I be in CECAS and Honors College?

Yes, in fact, students in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences compose approximately 40% of the students in the Clemson University Honors College. To learn more, please visit the Clemson University Honors College page.

What should I take to prepare for engineering?

General Engineering applicants are encouraged to have: MATHEMATICS - 4 units, including geometry, trigonometry, and introductory calculus. LABORATORY SCIENCE - At least 3 units, including both chemistry and physics. COMPUTING - At least 1 unit, including an introduction to a programming language. Applicants should have good keyboarding skills.

Advanced Placement Credits

What AP and IB credits count towards Engineering?

Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate classes such as Economics, Government, History, and Psychology can be used for General Education requirements. For Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics, please speak with an advisor. A complete list of credits and equivalents can be found in Admissions.

Summer Scholars

Are there summer programs for 7-12 graders?

Yes. Clemson offers numerous summer engineering and science programs through our Summer Scholars program. Rising 7th-12th grade students up to age 17 will enjoy this one-week introduction to college subjects while being immersed in the culture of Clemson University.
