I want to...
- Find funding
For your convenience, the Office of Research Development has compiled a database of funding opportunities specific to each college. View the funding opportunities here.
- Complete Sponsored Programs Certification
This certification will assist in the understanding of internal and external processes, procedure, and regulations to help in submitting the best proposal possible, and is required to submit proposals to external agencies. Learn more about the Sponsored Programs Certification program here.
- Request an electronic username
An electronic username is required for NSF, NIH or any sub-agency of DHHS. Registration requests should be made as far in advance of proposal submission deadlines as possible, but no later than 3 days prior to electronic submission due dates to ensure registration and allow for on-time proposal submission. To request a username, click here.
As of March 26, 2018 users can create their own NSF Research.gov accounts. The Office of Sponsored Programs will approve all requests.
To learn how to register for a new account visit https://www.research.gov/research-portal/appmanager/base/desktop?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=research_node_display&_nodePath=/researchGov/Service/Desktop/InstitutionAndUserManagement.html.
To migrate an existing account visit https://www.research.gov/common/attachment/Desktop/Single_ID_Help.pdf#page=35.
Upon registering, please complete the registration by logging in and changing your password. Once your account is active, you will receive a role. Make sure to input the additional information required by Research.gov after receiving a role.
- Find my college support center
Housed in each college, each OSP Support Center assists faculty with pre-award application preparation (including budgets), and with the review and submission of all grant applications for investigators in that college. Find your College Support Center here.
- Request a Support Letter
Requests for letters of support from the offices of the President, Provost, or Vice President for Research (VPR) are coordinated through the office of the VPR and must be submitted at least two weeks before the proposal submission date. Learn how to request a support letter here.
- Request/Review a Non-Disclosure, Material Transfer, Data Use or Other Agreement
Conducting research may involve the sharing of confidential information or materials with people and organizations outside of Clemson University. To protect your interests as an investigator and that of the University, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) assists with non-disclosure, material transfer, and data use agreements, which offer significant benefits for faculty. For example, agreements provided by sponsors sometimes contain restrictive language that could limit the ability to publish, eliminate one’s intellectual property rights, or even impose additional liability. OSP provides the appropriate review, negotiation and signature for these types of agreements. Please remember that only Authorized Organizational Representatives sign agreements. Clemson investigators, department chairs, and deans are not authorized to sign research-related agreements on behalf of the University. Click here for further information.
