Baruch expands environmental research capabilities
Construction begins in February to build a new conference
and education facility with two-way videoconferencing capabilities and to
refurbish water quality laboratories at the Baruch Institute on Coastal Ecology
and Forest Science. The facility will meet LEED (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) certification requirements set by the U.S. Green Building
Council. Landscaping will demonstrate storm water management techniques and the
use of coastal plants. Completion is expected in spring 2008. Architect is LS3P
in Charleston.
