Adams Warren Adams is the winner of the 2008 Lanchester Award to be awarded at the national INFORMS meeting in October.
Kenelly Professor Emeritus John Kenelly recently received a Distinguished Emeriti Award from Clemson University for his scholarly and professional work and for his community work in the Clemson area.
mini-conference The 23rd Clemson Mini-Conference on Discrete Mathematics and Algorithms was held on October 2 & 3, 2008.
 AP Institutes

The department hosted two SC Institutes for AP Teachers in June 2008 (Calculus AB and Statistics).

 Marilyn Reba

Marilyn Reba won the Clemson University 2008 Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology.  The formal announcement was made at Clemson’s Teaching with Technology Symposium, and Marilyn received an award and national recognition in Spring 2008 when she presented a paper at the Nineteenth International Conference on College Teaching and Learning  in Jacksonville, Florida. 

 Robert Lund  

Robert Lund was the recipient of the fifth annual Award for Outstanding Service to Math Graduate Students presented at the spring picnic.

 Joel Brawley  

Professor Emeritus Joel Brawley was inducted into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Engineers and Scientist.


The fifth annual Clemson Calculus Challenge will be held Friday, April 11, 2008.


Robert Lund was elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association "For innovative research in applied probability, statistical climatology, and time series analysis; and your stellar editorial service to the American Statistical Association."  A detailed announcement of the award is located here
