The Clemson University Turfgrass Program is conducted by an interdisciplinary group of faculty in the departments of Horticulture and Entomology, Soils and Plant Sciences. Faculty and staff are located at the main campus at Clemson, as well as the Pee Dee Research and Education Center in Florence, SC. The turfgrass industry is an important part of the economy of South Carolina. The turfgrass industry includes golf courses, sod production, sports field management, and professional lawn care. Faculty support these industries by conducting basic and applied research and by providing outreach recommendations through Extension.
