The Social Media Listening Center (SMLC) at Clemson University team won the 2012 Innovision Award for Innovation in Education.
Students from the College of Business and Behavioral Science, College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities, and College of Engineering and Science have used the SMLC for Creative Inquiry. Allison David (Marketing student) and Jimmy Kaplanges (Management student) appeared in the award video at the Innovision banquet. Many other students, including Gaines Warner (Communication Studies), Brett Smentek (Engineering), Audrey Hungerman (Marketing), Paul Smith (Management - Information Systems), Kelly Tuong (Management), Will Brinson (Management) and more were involved in projects that contributed to the SMLC winning this award.
Our team, comprised of faculty and staff from the College of Business and Behavioral Science, Cyberinfrastructure Technology Integration (CITI), and Clemson Computing and Information Technology (CCIT), has delivered innovative instruction to students about how organizations can more effectively use social media to create business value.
Jim Bottum (CCIT), Barbara Weaver (CITI), Simon Appleford (CITI), Dustin Atkins (CCIT), Chuck Heck (CCIT) and many more members of the Clemson Family were instrumental in the SMLC earning this award.
