Sponsored by: MAD Entrepreneurs Making A Difference Video Challenge
Purpose: The Arthur M. Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership recognizes the need to provide experiences beyond the classroom for young entrepreneurs. MAD Entrepreneurial Challenge is designed to assist entrepreneurs: those that are motivated by a desire to help, improve and transform social, environmental, educational and economic conditions. The completion requires that a team produce a three-‐minute video showing the difference that they have made in the community.
Competitor qualifications: The competition is open to all full and part-‐time undergraduate and graduate students as well as any residents of South Carolina that wish to participate. Applicants may be solo individuals or teams of up to four members.
Judging Criteria and Evaluation Process: Judges for MAD come from a community of entrepreneurs and business leaders. Judging will be based upon the selection of those entities that are most innovative and that make a difference. Each judge will submit a grading sheet and the scoring will be compiled by the MAD executive director.
Prizes: The winning prize will be $1,000.
Final Presentation Guidelines: Each entrepreneurial team has 1 minute to introduce themselves and exactly 3 minutes to make their video presentation. There may be a short question period from our panel of judges. The format for the video presentation is totally open, but the applicant must show how they are making a difference in the community.
