Welcome to Clemson University Orientation for 2013 fall semester.
Things to Know
Orientation for you is a two-day program. The Orientation and Transition Fee is $275. This fee provides for the complete orientation experience, which includes the summer program and Clemson Connect in August before classes start. This is a series of integrated programs designed to assist new students in their successful transition to Clemson.
Day 1 begins with check-in at 8 a.m. in the Hendrix Student Center; Day 2 concludes by 3 p.m. after course registration. Meals are included - lunch and dinner on Day 1 and breakfast on Day 2. A schedule-at-a-glance will be available soon to outline the events and programs for both days.
Students are provided housing in Manning Hall for the night of Day 1; it is included in the fee. Room includes a pillow, linens and towels. Options for you during online registration:
- You may add pre-orientation housing for the night before Day 1 at an additional cost of $20.
- You may add post-orientation housing for the night of Day 2 at an additional cost of $20.
How to Register a Guest
During online registration, you may add one or two guests. The fee for each guest is $25; this fee covers their materials, the program and lunch on Day 1. Guests will attend their own orientation program, which does not follow the student program at times. A schedule-at-a-glance will be available soon.
Guests are responsible for obtaining their own accommodations during orientation. There is an option for you to reserve and purchase on-campus housing for your guests; this fee is in addition to the guest fee. The rooms are located in a student residence hall; it is not a hotel setting. The room includes linens and towels and wi-fi internet access (no television or alarm clock provided).
- Housing is $55 per person for the night of Day 1 in Stadium Suites. Two guests from the same family will have a private room/bathroom. A single parent/guest will have a private room, but share a bathroom with another same-gender parent/guest. Two meals are also included with this room - dinner on Day 1 and breakfast on Day 2.
- If housing is purchased for Day 1, you may add pre-orientation housing and post-orientation housing for $20 per person, per night. We are unable to offer either of these additional accommodation options unless it is an add-on the Day 1 housing.
- There is limited space available for guest housing at each session. It will be available until we reach capacity.
- NOTE: all guest housing fees are per person.
Pre-Orientation Guide
Pre-Orientation Guide will be available online soon. This guide will have information to help you prepare for the two-day orientation session on campus. It is recommended that both you and your parents read through the guide prior to orientation. It contains information such as:
- items to complete prior to attending orientation, including placement tests and medical clearance information
- travel and parent/guest accommodations information
- orientation schedule information
- link to the orientation parking pass

Session and Housing Check-In
Check back here in early summer for more details regarding session check-in and on-campus housing check-in.
If you choose the pre-orientation housing option, please note:
- Check-in is in the lobby of the residence hall from 3-7 p.m.
- Anyone arriving after this check-in time should still go to the residence hall, Manning Hall and/or Stadium Suites. The contact number for the manager-on-duty will be posted on the door. Call the manager to access the building and check-in to orientation housing.
- If you check-in to pre-orientation housing and receive your key, you will be charged the fee, whether or not you sleep in the room that night.
