January Orientation 2017

Orientation for undergraduate students accepted for 2017 spring semester is Monday, January 9, 2017.

UPDATE:  Upstate South Carolina (which includes Clemson and Pickens County) has been issued a winter storm warning from January 6 at 7 p.m. until Saturday January 7 at 1 p.m. Please visit the CU Safety website to learn about any university closures or delays.

The online orientation registration program is now closed to allow us time to prepare all materials for your session.

  • If you are already registered, you will continue to have access to your orientation registration and can print a receipt and make a payment.

  • If you need to make last-minute changes, please plan to stop by the Help Desk after you check-in Monday morning.

  • IF YOU ARE NOT YET REGISTERED for orientation, please plan to attend orientation on January 9. You can register that morning; you are expected to make the payment during check-in. We can accept cash, checks and credit/debit cards.

  • All incoming new freshman and transfer students for 2017 spring semester are required to register for and attend orientation.

  • The January orientation and transition fee for the student is $190. NOTE: If you register for orientation and then do not attend the program on January 9, you are NOT eligible for a refund of the paid fees.

  • Any person (including a parent or spouse) attending with the student must be a registered guest in the student's registration. The guest fee is $25 per guest.

  • Lunch is included for each attendee.

  • There is no housing provided for this one-day session.

  • Orientation check-in will begin at 8 a.m. at the Hendrix Student Center. If you are traveling by car with GPS, the address is 720 McMillan Road, Clemson SC 29634.

  • Orientation t-shirts ($15 each) and croakies ($7 each) will be available for purchase during your online registration and onsite at check-in.

All new students are expected to participate in Tiger Transition: Kick-Off Clemson on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. 

Laptop Workshops

  • It is recommended new students attend one of the scheduled laptop workshops to set up their computer for Clemson wireless and other helpful software. Online pre-registration is required for the workshop: http://laptop.clemson.edu

  • Workshop schedule: Monday, January 9, from 4-6 p.m. and Tuesday, January 10, from 9-11 a.m. in Barre Hall


  • Parking for January orientation will be available in the C-1 parking lot. Refer to Parking Services for maps and access the PDF file "parking map" for lot location.

  • The parking pass is available to download now and will be valid both Monday and Tuesday. Plan to display it on your vehicle's dashboard while in the designated lot.
