Welcome to Clemson University Orientation for 2016 summer and fall semesters.

Things to Know

Orientation for you is a one-day program. The student Orientation and Transition Fee is $220, nonrefundable. This fee provides for the complete orientation experience, which includes the summer orientation session and the extended orientation program in August before classes start. These orientation programs are designed to assist new transfer students in their successful transition to Clemson.

Your orientation session begins with check-in at 8 a.m. in the Hendrix Student Center and concludes by 5:30 p.m. after course registration. Lunch is included.

On campus housing is not included in the fee, but is available in Manning Hall. Room includes a pillow, linens and shower towel. We recommend that you pack light. Students are required to leave the residence hall and return their room keys/fobs by noon. There is no storage space available for luggage, backpacks or other personal items. Housing options are available for you during online registration - note additional fee:

  • You may select pre-orientation housing for the night before your session at an additional cost of $20.

  • You may select post-orientation housing for the night of your session at an additional cost of $20.

Orientation housing roommates for students in Manning Hall are assigned randomly, as each student signs in. If you want to room with a particular person, the two of you would need to sign in at Manning Hall at the same time and request the same room.

How to Register a Parent or Guest

During online registration, you may add one or two guests. The fee for each guest is $25; this fee covers their materials, the program and lunch. Guests will attend their own orientation program, which does not follow the student program. Guests are responsible for their own accommodations; we do not provide any housing options for your guests. Please refer to the web page, Parent & Guest Info, for more information.

IMPORTANT: All guests, including spouses and significant others, follow the parallel guest program. Your guests will not be able to tag along with you.
