Football Gameday Recycling

Sponsored by: Students for Environmental Awareness

Each fall, SEA organizes recycling for the 80,000+ fans who tailgate around the stadium for home games. The campus recycling facility at Kite Hill places the large blue bins at the stadium gates and in the six largest tailgating areas. It is SEA's job to promote recycling during the game and to collect the materials from the bins after the game (or the next morning, in the case of night games).

During the 2004 season, we worked with the Athletic Department to place public service announcements during the games to remind fans of the need to recycle. We also walked through tailgating areas handing out fliers and green "recycling" bags to remind the tailgaters to recycle.

Solid Green Day, Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Help clean up campus after Homecoming on Solid Green Day. Go to the table in front of Mell Hall between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to be assigned a pick-up location, get your litter pick-up equipment and your free T-shirt (while supplies last)!
