Dear Clemson Family:
I write to you today about something I am passionate about -- the United Way. I believe it is important to Clemson and it’s important for the communities we live in.
United Way is a network of organizations that brings people together to tackle the tough issues we face together. United Way understands that education, financial stability and health are the building blocks for a good life. These are key goals for United Way.
We all have a stake in creating a healthy, prosperous community. And we all win when every child succeeds in school, when healthy families live in stable neighborhoods, and when parents have good jobs.
Clemson University is actively involved, not just through our employee campaign and giving, but also when our students, faculty and staff volunteer their time to help United Way-supported charities.
For 2015, we have set an ambitious goal for our University campaign — $110,000. I would like to see us meet that goal and surpass it!
Our campaign has begun. Please do your part and join us in this effort for the common good. Return your pledge form by December 5, 2014 to have your commitment count.
And remember: your United Way gift will stay in your local community, whether you are a faculty or staff member who lives near campus or elsewhere around the state. Your employee gift to United Way will be distributed based on your home zip code.
Watch for more information through Inside Clemson. And thank you for joining in to help us build healthier communities. Great things can happen when we Live United!
