Clemson's Campus Beach & Recreation Area is a welcome change in scenery from the downtown and campus locations and promotes a healthy lifestyle through a variety of leisure and physical activities. Students looking for a casual picnic enjoy the on-site picnic shelter and tables, while those looking to toss a football or throw a Frisbee welcome the athletic fields.  A disc golf course and sand volleyball court are on-site as well as beach access for swimming and sunning.

Several clubs call the Campus Beach & Recreation Area home, including the sailing and water ski clubs. Clemson's Outdoor Recreation and Education (CORE) program is also housed at the beach with free day rentals available for canoes and kayaks.  Click HERE for CORE's website and more information.

Rowing Spring Training

Each Spring many rowing teams and clubs from all over the Northeast call Clemson home for a week.  The majority of teams come mid March, but teams have been known to train anytime from early February to late March.  There is plenty of room on the water to train with the installation of a seperate rowing course in anticipations of the athletes arrival, as well as access to the Clemson varsity course and countless miles of open water.

Clemson Outdoor Recreation and Education (CORE)

The Clemson University Outdoor Recreation and Education Program provides the Clemson University Community the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor adventure activities. Trips and instructional programs are scheduled throughout the year and include backpacking, hiking, river running, canoeing, sea kayaking and rock climbing. Trips can be designed for every skill level, from the beginner to the advanced adventurer. As part of CORE's commitment to education, skills workshops are also offered in knot tying, map and compass navigation, whitewater kayak and canoeing. In addition to these program offerings CORE also provides an equipment rental service, and it has staff who can serve as resource persons to help groups plan their own adventure trips.
