Our Story: Student Experiences

Clemson Campus Recreation strives to make a positive impact on all Clemson students, faculty, staff, and community. These stories feature Clemson Campus Recreation's student experiences and program highlights.

The look at Clemson's Lake Hartwell beach property has vastly changed from 2018 to 2020 due to the second phase of the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness & Wellness Complex property enhancements. Another large turf field joined LoConte Family Field in the Fall of 2018, while the Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center officially opened in the Spring of 2020. These two projects have been major enhancements to this property but this project is not finished yet! There will be more to come in the near future.

These enhancements will greatly influence the current quality and volume of Campus Recreation programing on campus. The Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Complex will give students access to sports fields, hiking trails, a beach area and indoor/outdoor classrooms. This first–class recreational facility will enable Clemson students to develop leadership, healthy lifestyles, have an outlet for physical and mental well-being, and build lifelong friendships.

Christian ('15) tells how managing IM Sports gave him a social network & employable skills. Joyce ('14) shares how exciting teaching Zumba made her international experience. Anastasia tells how athletic training gave her an outlet to recover from a broken hip.
