Sunday - Thursday 5:30-8:30 p.m.
The Climbing Wall may be used only under staff supervision.
Use of the Climbing Wall and climbing gear during regular operating hours is free of charge.
Orientation Classes are scheduled during each 2-hour period that the Climbing Wall is open. Orientation classes are required for all new climbers. Climbers who have completed the leisure skills climbing course or who have previous climbing experience may choose to challenge the belay test. Comments and suggestions from users of the Climbing Wall are always welcomed and may be directed to Robert Taylor at rtaylo4@clemson.edu.
The Climbing Wall is available for reservation by University and community groups during non-operational hours.
General Information
Reservation requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.
Reservations are available on evenings when the Climbing wall is not open for general use, or during the day according to the availability of staff. A minimum of 8 participants is required for a group reservation. The maximum group size is 32.
Groups with participants under the age of 18 must provide adult supervision in a ratio of 1 adult to 10 participants.
The program cost includes a reservation fee of $15 (refundable only if the program is canceled by Outdoor Program Staff) and a program fee as listed below.

The Clemson University Climbing Wall may be used by full time Clemson University students; part-time students who are members of Campus Recreation; faculty and staff who are members of Campus Recreation; community wellness members of Campus Recreation; and the spouses and dependents of the above who have individual memberships or who come under family memberships. The minimum age for use of the Climbing Wall is 8.
Participants who are inexperienced in climbing must attend an Orientation Class, pass a safety check, develop and demonstrate basic climbing skills, and complete and submit a Registration form and a Release and Waiver of Liability/Informed Consent before being permitted to use the Climbing Wall (Exception: First time users may try out the wall- with a Climbing Wall attendant belaying- upon completion and submission of a Release and Waiver of Liability/Informed Consent). Experienced climbers may use the wall upon demonstration of proficient climbing and belay skills and completion of a Registration Form and a Release and Waiver of Liability/Informed Consent.
Please Note: Minors (Climbers under 18 years of age) must have the signature of a parent on all forms.
Join us on March 3, 2012 for the Orange Point hosted by the Clemson Climbing Club and the Clemson Outdoor Recreation and Education Program. The competition is part of the Collegiate Climbing Series (CCS) and is one of six stops on the circuit in the southeast. The competition is open to all full time students. The CCS was created by USA Climbing and other schools in the series include The University of Alabama, USC Upstate, University of Alabama Birmingham, and Georgia Southern University. All students who would like to compete for points in the CCS must be registered with USA Climbing.
