FREE Housing Adventure Trips

Spring 2013 Dates and Trips coming soon....

CORE is now offering adventure trips for individual residence halls thanks to a new partnership with University Housing!  This is a great way to meet other students in your hall and to get outside and enjoy all of the amazing outdoor activities available in the Clemson area.  Please note that you must be a resident of the corresponding residence hall in order to participate in that trip.  All trip related expenses are covered by University Housing so the trip is FREE for you!!  You will only be responsible for food and your personal clothing for the trip.

Sunset Paddle   Residents of Byrnes, Lever, Manning, and Mauldin 

Date: Thursdays, September 6th (Byrnes/Lever) & 13th (Manning/Mauldin) 2012

Trip Details:  Come paddle with CORE on Lake Hartwell! This is a great trip for any skill level. We will launch from the Campus Beach and explore the outskirts of Clemson Campus by boat.  See the lake and campus from a whole new light.  We provide boats, paddles, PFDs and trip leaders for this trip.

Registration:  This trip is limited to 20 residents. Registration is first come first serve and can be completed online with the link below.  We will respond to your registration and let you know if your spot is confirmed.  If space is not available you will be placed on a waitlist.  If you are placed on the waitlist we will let you know if space becomes available.

Pre-Trip Meeting:  A MANDATORY meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 5th and 12th in the Lever Classroom. The exterior entrance to the Lever Classroom is located on the basement floor of Lever Hall facing Schilletter Dining Hall.  Residents who register for the trip and fail to attend the pre-trip meeting will not be eligible to participate and will be replaced by residents on the waitlist.

 

Whitewater Rafting Trip - Nantahala River  Residents of Calhoun Courts and THV 

Date:  Saturday, September 22nd 2012

Trip Details:  The Nantahala offers eight miles of practice on easy Class II rapids before splashing through the exciting Class III whitewater of Nantahala Falls. This river is one of America’s most popular whitewater runs. The Nantahala is a dam released river giving consistent year-round water levels for great rafting in any season! We provide boats, paddles, PFDs and raft guides for this trip. 

Registration:  This trip is limited to 40 residents. Registration is first come first serve and can be completed online with the link below.  We will respond to your registration and let you know if your spot is confirmed.  If space is not available you will be placed on a waitlist.  If you are placed on the waitlist we will let you know if space becomes available.

Backpacking- Panthertown Residents of Johnstone

Date: Saturday/Sunday October 27-28 2012

Trip Details: Panthertown Valley in North Carolina offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the Southeast.  Join other memebers of Johnstone for an exciting weekend of enjoying the wilderness up close and personal.  CORE will provide experienced trip leaders and all the gear you need.
