Fike Recreation Center to offer “Gymsitter” service during home football games
Football season is just around the corner. Planning on making a family
outing to the game, but don’t have tickets for the little ones? No
problem. Kids can enjoy a day of fun, too, with Fike Recreation
Center’s Gymsitter service.
Children
ages 3 to 10 can participate in the program, which will be available
during home football games this fall. The program will be offered for
every home game that is set to kick-off before 7 p.m. The fee is $50
per child in advance, and $60 per child after the registration deadline
has passed.
Children in the program will participate in
obstacle courses, kickball, snacks, arts and crafts and other various
fitness activities. The children will be under the supervision of the
Gymsitter staff, who are all CPR/AED and First Aid certified with
experience working with children.
“The entire family can come
for the weekend. Not only does Fike serve students, but also the
Clemson community and members of our Clemson family who travel from out
of town,” said Susan Pope, director of fitness programs and services
for the Department of Campus Recreation. “We want to give children a
taste of the Clemson experience.”
To register a child for the
Gymsitters program, contact Fike Recreation Center at (864) 656-6559 or
download the registration form. Forms and payment must be faxed or
mailed and received no later than the Monday before the game to get the
early registration fee.
Dept. of Campus Recreation reserves the right to cancel
Gymsitter service at anytime. The service will only be offered on home
game days when kick off time is at or before 7 p.m.
