Special Courses - Tiger Fish Swim School

Are you a fish out of water who's looking for the right swimming school? Try Clemson University! Clemson's Tiger Fish Swim School is offered at Fike Recreation Center in the McHugh Natatorium. American Red Cross-certified instruction will be available at six levels.

  • Fundamental Aquatic Skills
  • Stroke Development
  • Stroke Improvement
  • Stroke Refinement
  • Fitness Swimmer

Classes are 30 minutes a session. Time of class to be determined by skill level and age. Swimming lessons offered to children over three years old, teens and adults.
American Red Cross certified instructors will offer six levels of swim lessons. Deadline for registration is one week prior to the Friday before the first lesson of each session. Classes fill quickly so register early.

Fall 2009

The classes are held on Sundays in the months of September, October, November, February, March and April. The actual dates are listed below:
September 6, 13, 20, 27
October 4, 11 (fall break), 18, 25
November 1, 8, 15, 22
February 7, 14, 21, 28
March 7, 14 (spring break), 21, 28
April 4 (Easter), 11, 18, 25

The classes are offered in four, thirty minute lessons. The prices will vary depending on your affiliation with Clemson University as well as the type of class you register for. For University Affiliates the cost is $45, and for Non-University Affiliates the cost is $60. There is an additional $10 fee for private lessons. There will also be a $5 discount for any returning participants this school year between September 2009 and April 2010.

Anyone is welcome to take lessons as long as they are three or older. The registration forms can be found at the Fike Recreation Center or can be downloaded.
