In an emergency, call 911. On-campus medical emergencies are transported by the University ambulance to the appropriate community medical resource. The University ambulance is staffed with certified emergency medical personnel 24 hours a day. Students are required to pay for off-campus ambulance transportation except when transported to those medical resources within the city of Clemson for after-hours urgent care. For psychological emergencies, counselors are available for crisis assistance and consultation 24/7. During normal office hours, contact the CAPS office at 864-656-2451 or walk into the CAPS office and request to be seen on an emergency visit. After hours and on weekends, a counselor can be reached by calling the Clemson University Police Department at 864-656-2222 and asking for the CAPS counselor on call. The dispatcher will take your name and number and have the counselor on call return your call.
In case of emergency where immediate police or emergency medical services are needed, call 911.
If you are a student and have questions about your health care needs after hours, call the After Hours Nurse Line at 864-656-2233 (Press Option 2). A registered nurse is available to answer questions and give advice on health care needs.
