Healthy Campus Initiative

Healthy Campus collaborates with stakeholders in the campus community to ensure that our campus is optimally and sustainably organized to support, strengthen and enhance health, enabling students to achieve, learn and serve.
We provide student leadership learning experiences that frame the concepts of health and sustainability in a global context and challenge students to be leaders for a healthy and sustainable future. We focus on policies, systems and environments that positively impact:
- Health and safety
- Alcohol use
- Sustainability and intergenerational equity
- Leadership and change agent capacity
The Healthy Campus focus for 2011-2012 is:
- moving campus toward being safer and pedestrian-centered
- providing community education for topics that include alcohol, sexual assault prevention and stress management
- creating a sustainability-focused living-learning community
- establishing a peer health advocate network that focuses on alcohol-related risk reduction strategies that will be embedded within student organizations
- improving upon the local, healthy food systems within the campus and community.
