CCIT Change Management

The goal of Change Management is to ensure standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all Changes in order to minimize the impact of Change-related Incidents upon service quality, and consequently to improve the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Guidelines for submitting items to Change Management:

As a general rule, when you are planning to make a change ask the following questions:

  • Will this change impact the availability of the service provided?
  • Will this change impact the way end users use this service?
  • Will this change impact the way the service is supported?
  • Does this change need to be communicated to anyone?
  • Will this change require information in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to be updated?

If the answer is YES to any of these questions, then an RFC should be submitted.
People are always encouraged that when in doubt, to submit an RFC.
