Welcome to the School of Computing at Clemson University. Clemson’s School of Computing was formed from the Department of Computer Science in 2007 with a vision to be a national leader in the definition and advancement of emerging academic fields in computing through the development of successful divisions that integrate computation with the arts, sciences, and engineering. The School of Computing is key to the College of Engineering and Science’s mission of preparing students for all aspects of computing and as part of a university wide emphasis on information technology and high performance computing. We provide a diverse and rich educational environment in many areas of computing while also maintaining nationally prominent research programs in selected focus areas.
The School has three primary academic divisions: computer science, visual computing, and human-centered computing.
Currently we offer six degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level.
This is a great time to be in computing! According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 59% of the job openings in all of Science and Engineering between 2004 and 2014 will be in computing.
